I’m having a moment. I’m sick of food. This is so rare that I feel this way, but after having the oh-so complicated relationship with mac and cheese last month, I just want a break. In fact, I was talking to one of my friends who knows a celeb-type that has a kitchen for her chef and a kitchen where she poses and pretends she cooked it, and I found myself envious of this odd situation. Me!!! Someone who loves to cook. Yes, you heard it. I am confessing to you that I actually would prefer to just take cute photos next to food right now. This makes my cheeks turn red to say, but it’s true.
You know you’re a true #foodblogger when you can no longer go to a restaurant or your kitchen and just enjoy. I can’t help but think, how could this have been better? Or, instead of just enjoying my meal out, I think, that recipe totally didn’t work, or, I could’ve made it better. It’s gotten bad when you no longer criticize just your own food, but also the food of others. My whole motto is food is meant to be enjoyed, shared, and cherished together, so you know the internal battle is strong.
I needed a fresh perspective and I went to my mom (nice to know I can do that even as an adult) who always has the comforting answer: You don’t hate cooking, you just need some simple food. Some color. Something fresh for spring. Something to make you fall in love with food again.
Are you getting excited?? I am!! This month is the month we make salad. Not a lettuce salad, but a spiralized salad with a full color palette that will make your eyes twinkle and your tastebuds dance. I’ve been dying to get back to raw food, and I think it’s finally time…
Are you ready for some fresh food?

Can’t wait to see this salad and its dressing. Summer salads are so refreshing, and starting in spring just makes a great welcome for the warmer months.
