I’ve made a couple fruit popsicles and tried a couple recipes and have discovered one very crucial fact. Liquid destroys popsicle texture! Use as little liquid as possible. If you start playing with this recipe and want to make different flavors, yogurt has tested the best for me. I tried canned coconut (the cream part) but that still had a really weird texture. I bet it would be better if I had tried fresh coconut? I’ll probably have another recipe for you once I test that out. I would however recommend using coconut oil since it has a more buttery creamy finish in the freezer.
This time, I wanted to use avocado!!! It is absolutely the best. You won’t taste the avocado in it but it adds a super creamy texture that you won’t want to miss out on. You’ll also get super shiny hair, skin and nails…your eyes and waistline will also see benefits.Make breakfast time fast and easy with this #dairyfree popsicle #recipe. Click To Tweet
Avocados have lutein and lots of alpha & beta carotenes. “High amounts of carotenoids in your diet have been shown in scientific studies to improve your skin’s density, thickness, tone and general appearance.” Mix that with the vitamin e and omegas and you have a pretty potent skin shield defending your skin all day long.

One of my personal secret weapons for dry skin is avocado. I’ve also found that my skin is clearer (no acne) when I have avocado in my diet because of the vitamin E.
- 10 oz bag strawberries, fresh or thawed for the smoothest blend
- 1 banana
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (or until desired sweetness)
- up to 1/4 cup orange juice (use as little as possible, just enough for everything to blend smoothly)
- about 1 tbsp lemon juice (for tartness)
- 1 banana, sliced
- Pre-freeze popsicle molds so the bananas stick to the sides better
- Blend all the ingredients (except for the sliced banana) into the blender and blend until smooth.
- Take out the popsicle mold from freezer and stick your sliced bananas to the sides of your mold, about 6 banana slices per mold
- Pour the blender ingredients into the popsicle molds, put the sticks in, and freeze overnight
popsicle sticks: If you aren't using sticks that come with the mold, put aluminum foil or seran wrap on top of your molds and stick the sticks through the foil.
I should mention if you have super picky kids, I would just blend the strawberries with the avocado & maple syrup and that’s it, then add the other ingredients the 2nd time you make it. Personally, I like the banana in there because it adds extra nutrients and I like the texture and sweetness from it. I also like the orange juice in there to smooth everything out. That’s the awesome thing about popsicles. You can tailor them to your tastebuds. Enjoy! 🙂
